Tania De Boer

Ellensburg, (B.A.E. '07), was recently selected to be the new Life Skills teacher at Valley View Elementary School.

Tim Patterson

Issaquah, (M.A. Admin.), is the new principal of Inglewood Junior High School. He has more than 14 years of experience as an educator, with his most current former position being associate principal of Eastlake High School in Sammamish.

Tim Yeomans

Bellingham, (1998), was named superintendent of the Meridian School District. Since 2005, Yeomans worked as assistant superintendent for the Mount Baker School District.

Bryan Ellis Griffiths

New Westminster, B.C. (M.A. Ed); passed away on June 21, 2007. He held positions of teacher to principal in every school in the New Westminster School District.

Carol Sue Christie Smith

Mount Vernon, (Elementary Education 1971); passed away at her husband's family home on July 15, 2007. She was 65 years old. Smith spent 27 years as a kindergarten teacher.

Carroll Herbert Clark

Everett, (M. Ed); passed away peacefully in April of 2007. He spent many years teaching in Edmonds, Sultan, and Everett.

Charlene Laura Reece LaFleur-Bronson

Mount Vernon, (B.A.E. and M.Ed. 1982); passed away April 8, 2007. She was 78 years old.

Chet Dombroski

Shoreline, (B.A. '39); passed away on June 10, 2007. He taught in Copalis Beach, Seattle and Aberdeen before becoming a U.S. history teacher, counselor and coach at Shelton High School for 21 years.

Curtis E. Mayberry

Lynden, (B.A.E. 1968); passed away April 23, 2007 at the age of 60.

Delbert Hauenstein

Everett, (M.A. '64); passed away on April 17, 2007 after extended illness related to kidney failure and diabetes. He retired in 1991 from teaching with 27 years of experience, most of which was with the Edmond's School District.

Donald K. Olson

Snoqualmie, (B.A. '55, M.A. Ed. '61); passed away on June 19, 2007 at the age of 77 after a brave fight with lung cancer. He spent 25 years as an educator in North Bend.

Doris Janette Wiley

Prosser, (B.A.); passed away on June 7, 2007 at the age of 94. Shortly after earning her teaching certificate, she began teaching in a one room school house in Dixie.

Eva Marie Carlson Allen

Centralia (1971); passed away August 5, 2007 at the age of 97. She was an elementary school teacher for 36 years.

Garnet M. Paar

Carnation, (AA Ed); passed away in July, 2007 at the age of 94. She taught for several years at Factoria and Carnation elementary schools.

Garris Timmer

Lynden, (M.Ed); passed away peacefully on June 1, 2007. He taught math and science at Lynden Christian High School and served as an administrator for 36 years.

Gerald Mercer

Spokane, (B.A. Science Ed. '47); passed away December, 2006. He spent many years teaching at several institutions and pursuing other lifelong passions.

Hazel Rule

passed away March 7, 2007 at the age of 98. She taught in the Seattle School District for over 25 years.

Marguerite Lucile "Peg" Reade

Snohomish, (M.A.); passed away on June 28, 2007 at the age of 96. She taught elementary school in Darrington and Arlington until her retirement in 1976.

Millie Esther (Gerdis)

Aberdeen, (B.A.); passed away this past spring. She spent most of her thirty years as an educator at Robert Gray Elementary School in Aberdeen.

Norman James Hayes

Puyallup, (B.A.); passed away on June 22, 2007. He spent 30 years teaching at Spinning Elementary School in the Puyallup School District before his retirement.

Palma Hoover

Centralia, (Bellingham Normal School); passed away this past May, 2007 at the age of 97. She had a long and distinguished teaching career, spending time at Stillwater School near Carnation and a thirty year career in Centralia.

Paul M. Bajema

Lynden, (B.A.); passed away last spring. After earning his degree in physical science and education from WWU, he began his teaching career in Port Orchard.

Robert Charles Smith

Renton, (B.A.); died on July 20, 2007 in a private plane crash. He taught special education as well as French in Neah Bay, WA and Gold Beach, OR.

Robert Steven Opel

Marysville, (B.A. Ed); passed away in March, 2007. He taught for the Marysville School District for 30 years, and continued to substitute teach for eight years after his retirement in 1991.

Sharon Reynolds

Port Angeles; passed away on June 9, 2007. She retired from teaching in the Edmonds School District.
