ECEM Declare a Major/Minor

Steps to Declare Your Major/Minor

The Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Multilingual Education (ECEM) offers a variety of majors designed to prepare future educators to work with children and families in diverse learning environments. Students can explore programs in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Bilingual Education, and more. Each major (and the Multilingual minor) provides a strong foundation in educational theory, culturally responsive teaching, and practical classroom experience. To declare a major, students should review program requirements, meet with an academic advisor, and complete the declaration process outlined on this page.
