The Martinez Fellowship Program aims to provide Teachers of Color with crucial resources for professional development and early career coaching throughout their undergraduate and graduate studies.

Similar to the mission of the Office of Diversity, Recruitment and Retention, the Martinez Fellowship Program is dedicated to improving teacher diversity and the retention of teachers of color in Washington State.

Counseling

  • WWU emergency mental health services are available 24/7 by phone to current WWU students by calling 360-650-3164. During after hours students can call this number and press 1 to reach an emergency on-call counselor
  • Western’s Counseling Center recommends a number of other self-help resources for anxiety and depression
  • The American Psychological Association also offers suggestions for navigating life during COVID-19
