Until the creation of The Ray Wolpow Institute in 2016, The Northwest Center for Holocaust, Genocide and Ethnocide Education was part of the Center for Education, Equality and Diversity at Western Washington University. The NWCHGEE provides high school and middle school teachers with information and expertise on the Holocaust as well as on other acts of genocide and ethnocide in ancient and modern history. Projects include:

  • Co-facilitating educational presentations and art shows about the Holocaust and genocide.
  • Assisting preservice teachers in research and training in Holocaust education.
  • Assisting teachers in educational programs commemorating Kristallnacht and Yom Ha Shoah.
  • Creating a database of teachers, scholars and speakers interested in these subjects, and providing a list serve to share knowledge and ideas on Holocaust-Genocide education.
