Degree Programs, Certificates and Endorsements in Renton

Serving the greater South King County region

Woodring College of Education, the Puget Sound Educational Service District (ESD), our partner school districts, and Washington state share a commitment to increasing the number of bi/multilingual teachers from the communities in which they live, helping to build strong multi- language programs, and increasing the diversity of our teaching force to reflect our student populations. WWU, in partnership with the Puget Sound ESD, has expanded our educational outreach programming to Renton to better serve the greater South King County region.

The Woodring College of Education began an innovative educational outreach program in partnership with Highline School District in 2016; this school district-based program was referred to as an Alternative Route to Teaching. The degree completion program, with a focus on inclusive education and multilingual education, allows paraprofessionals and teachers to collaborate, work and study within their local school district.
