Welcome to Special Education!
If you have recently been accepted into a special education program, you must attend to a few details:
New Student Orientation occurs each quarter the day BEFORE classes begin and attendance is mandatory! Attending all three sessions is a program requirement, please plan accordingly. Failure to attend will jeopardize your program status.
At the departmental orientation, faculty and staff will provide you with an overview of the program and you will have the opportunity to ask questions. The Special Education Handbook was emailed to you with your offer of admission. Please read it over before orientation. It is also linked on the sidebar of the Special Education Page.
Exact dates, times, and location each quarter are emailed to you in your Woodring Admission Letter. Below is a sample of the schedule for planning purposes.

Registration: Special Education controls registration through the use of overrides. You cannot register for a SPED class in your major without an override. Overrides are input based on your Plan of Study. If you are in a major leading to Teacher Certification overrides will only be given when Clearance (fingerprinting and the PRC) is valid and will remain valid throughout the quarter of registration. You will receive notifications before registration regarding you Plan of Study and clearance status. Please pay close attention to emails with Official Notice in the subject line.
