How to Apply

Eligibility

  • Applicants must have completed at least 45 credits of college level coursework with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Non-native English speakers are required to have a TOEFL score of 550 or higher.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check

Deadline to submit the WWU TESOL Application:

 

Current Western Student

Already "matriculated" into WWU.

Non-Matriculated Student

Not a current Western student. Will not seek federal financial aid. 

Planning to Matriculate into WWU

Necessary to apply to be eligible for federal financial aid.

Registration Procedure

After completing a TESOL application, being accepted, and completing required forms, register online using Web4U.

After completing a TESOL application, being accepted, and completing required forms, register using an electronic Extended Education form each quarter.

After completing a TESOL application, acceptance to the TESOL program, completing an application to WWU, acceptance to WWU, and completing required forms, register online using Web4U.

Fall Quarter Registration 

Up to first day of quarter.

September 10th recommended; up to first day of quarter.

March 1st priority deadling. 

Winter Quarter Registration 

Up to first day of quarter.

December 10th recommended; up to first day of quarter. 

September 15th priority deadline.

Spring Quarter Registration  

Up to first day of quarter.

March 19th recommended; up to first day of quarter.

January 1st priority deadline. 

Summer Quarter Registration Up to first day of quarter.  June 10th recommended; up to first day of quarter. March 1st priority deadline. 

* Applicants who are not a current Western student also need to apply to Western Washington University, see information in the “Prospective students not currently enrolled at Western” section below.

 

Students currently admitted/enrolled at Western

  1. Submit the TESOL Program Application.
  2. Once admitted to the TESOL program, you will be provided with registration information.

Non-matriculated students 

  1. Submit the TESOL Program Application.
  2. Submit the Special Student Enrollment Form through Extended Education. 

Prospective students not currently enrolled at Western

  1. Submit WWU Admissions Application, Transcripts and Fee.
  2. Submit the TESOL Program Application.
  3. Once formally admitted to Western and to the TESOL program, you will be provided details on how to register.

Refunds/Course Withdrawal

Courses follow the schedule of Western’s quarter. Be sure to check important dates and deadlines on the Registrar’s Office website.
