About

Danny Carroll, PhD, MSW, centers his scholarship on the role of social work in combating targeted violence, anti-racist and anti-oppressive social work practice, and responding to race-based trauma and traumatic stress. Prior to his academic career, he served as executive director of several nonprofits and founded an international NGO dedicated to the economic liberation of women in Burundi. He has served on and chaired numerous nonprofit boards. Dr. Carroll holds a BSW from Indiana Wesleyan University and both an MSW and PhD from Indiana University.
