About
My work is rooted in early childhood education and developmental psychology, with a focus on equity, inclusion, and family partnerships. As a developmental specialist in early intervention, I support infants, toddlers, and their families through individualized services, assessments, and family-centered coaching. I bring experience in developing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) under Part C of IDEA (birth to age 3), supporting transitions to Part B services (ages 3–21) with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborating across disciplines to meet the diverse developmental needs of children.
In higher education, I teach courses that examine the intersections of education, culture, and equity. My teaching emphasizes social-emotional learning, culturally responsive practices, and inclusive pedagogy that prepares future educators to bridge theory and lived experience.
As both an educator and a parent of a child in K–12 special education, I understand firsthand the challenges families face in navigating school systems. This lived experience shapes my perspective and underscores my commitment to practices that honor children’s strengths, family knowledge, and community voice.
