Maestros Para el Pueblo

What does Maestros Para el Pueblo programming look like at Western?

As you know, Skagit Valley College, via Maestros Para el Pueblo, works with Western Washington University and various high schools in the area to help Latino/a/x students achieve their goals in pursuing a career in education.

The Maestros program encourages and supports Latino/a/x students and their families to fulfill their higher education goals of becoming a certified teacher and a role model in the Skagit Valley Community.

Once at Western, students in this program will be invited to attend special Woodring and Maestros events, participate in the student club Educators for Communities, have opportunities to attend unique field trips, and be provided work shopping opportunities to prepare for admission into Woodring programs. This program is still developing at Western's campus. If you have any suggestions on events, programs, or other things that should be included in Maestros Para el Pueblo programming, please contact Nat Reilly with your ideas.
