About

Colleen is an Instructor in the Human Services Program housed in the Department of Health and Community Studies at Western Washington University. Colleen received her MSW and MPH from New Mexico State University as a Peace Corps Fellow. She is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Guatemala 2004-2006) and was an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer in Seattle (2003). Colleen is a practicing Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with lots of experience in case management, care coordination and mental health counseling. Prior to teaching at WWU, Colleen lead experiential education courses for Where There Be Dragons in Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. She also lived and taught in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine for a time. Colleen enjoys both teaching and practicing in the field of Human Services.
