Multilingual Education Community Programs

Interested in becoming a teacher specialized in teaching multilingual learners?

WWU Renton offers three initial licensure teacher education programs focused on multilingual education in South King County through our satellite campus located in the PSESD space:

Located at the Puget Sound ESD in Renton, all classes will be held during evening hours during the school year. Candidates will be employed by a partner school district in South King County during the day.

All three above programs are dual certification programs. Candidates become certified their qualifying endorsement: Elementary Ed, Special Ed, or Secondary Education and also graduate with a P-12 English Language Learner (ELL) and/or P-12 Bilingual Education (BE) endorsement.

Additionally, Western offers an Endorsement only option for current, practicing teachers looking to add the P-12 ELL or P-12 Bilingual Education (BE) endorsement to their WA state teaching license.

We encourage all interested candidates to contact us to learn more about the programs and specific entry requirements.
