Pacific Northwest Children's Literature Clearinghouse

Welcome to the Clearinghouse

Western Washington University’s Woodring College of Education is pleased to house The Pacific Northwest Children’s Literature Clearinghouse.  The Clearinghouse was founded in 1990 with the intention of sharing the latest in children’s literature with novice and experienced teachers.  Under the guidance of its founder, Dr. Ted Mork, and the dedicated faculty and students who have worked there since then, the Clearinghouse has become a vital center for books.

The Clearinghouse continues to provide access to many new books for educators who love children’s and young adult literature.  Every year, publishers are generous enough to send us (free of charge) their latest and greatest selections.  Currently, our facility houses several year’s worth of published books.  The books are available for the Woodring and Western community as well as the education community at large to review and to use with children and teens.  At the end of three years, books are donated to community schools and non-profit organizations.
