About

Carolyn Brennan is an assistant professor of early childhood education at Western Washington University. She began her career as a toddler teacher in a Reggio Emelia inspired program and now teaches courses focused on infants and toddlers, families, behavior guidance and equity. Her research focuses on early childhood teacher preparation, online learning, teacher-family communication, and supporting teachers to advance social justice in the classroom. Carolyn earned a PhD in Learning Sciences & Human Development from the University of Washington and an advanced nursing certificate in infant mental health from the Barnard Center for Infant Mental Health.
