About

Education: Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana, Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Special Education from University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, IN, and Doctor of Education in Special and Early Childhood Education from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.

Background: I have taught every age, from preschool through high school, in nearly all areas of special education. After teaching in the public schools for thirteen years, I joined the ranks of teacher educators at a liberal arts, private college in Indiana, serving as an Assistant Professor and Director of Teacher Education (DTE) for three years. I have supervised, evaluated, and facilitated remediation for early field experiences, methods coursework, and student teaching in a variety of settings. I began supervising interns for Western Washington University spring 2012 and began teaching classes during the 2017 in Everett and North Seattle.  I began making student teaching and practicum placements in 2018.  I love working with future teachers.

Personal: I live in 2 different states at this time.  My husband and I spend most of our time in Lake Stevens, WA, but also own a home in Columbia City, IN.  We have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.  Our oldest 3 children and our grandchildren live in IN and our youngest is at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.  When we are not in WA, we are traveling for my husband's profession, spending time with family, cheering for our son as he wrestles, or watching my Green Bay Packers and my husband's Seahawks!
