Teacher Education Students

Open to any student pursuing a career as a teacher. No GPA or financial need requirements. For full-time student teaching quarter or semester only. Post-Bac students are eligible.

Open to any student enrolled in an educator preparation program at WWU. Post-bacs are eligible.

Amount: Four awards of $1800 each. One in each of the following departments: elementary, secondary, special education and human services.

Award: $500

Open to anyone pursuing a career in teacher education. Must have financial need (please submit a statement of financial need). No other criteria. Post-Bac students are eligible.

Open to students in the Woodring College of Education who are perceived to become effective classroom teachers. Recipients shall have a sense of service through active involvement as volunteers to the health of the communities in which they live.  Post-Bac students are eligible.

Applicants must be enrolled in a Woodring College teacher preparation program and demonstrate a need for financial assistance (please submit a statement of financial need). Post-Bac students are eligible.

Awarded to students admitted to the Woodring College of Education, who have demonstrated academic performance and perceived effectiveness as a classroom teacher.

Amount: One award of $300

Applicants must be undergraduates enrolled in a teacher education program with academic standing as a junior or senior for the academic year of the award. A minimum cumulative 3.3 grade point average. Post-Bac students are NOT eligible.

Amount: $5000 per year, may be renewed each year as long as the student is meeting program requirements for up to four years.

Applicants:

• must identify as male
• must have participated in the Maestros Para el Pueblo program at Skagit Valley College
• must intend to enroll in or be admitted to a teacher education program. 
• must have financial need.

Application for Mann Challenge Scholarship

This off-campus housing scholarship honors the memory of educator Marilyn F. Nold. The selected recipient will receive three quarters of rent free housing in a one bedroom unit in the New England Apartments (2516-2536 Douglas Ave.) beginning in September of the upcoming academic year. The scholarship is generously offered in cooperation with Madrona Bay Real Estate Investments.  Recipients must sign and comply with a private lease agreement.
