Admission Deadlines
- Fall Quarter: March 1st
- Winter Quarter: September 15th
- Spring Quarter: January 15th
Step 1: Review Admission Requirements
Teacher Certification Applicants Must Meet the Following:
- Complete a minimum of 45 college-level credits by the application due date. This does not apply to transfer applicants with an AA/DTA. AP (min. score of 4) and IB (min. score of 4) credits count towards the 45 credits. AP science scores are not accepted.
- 2.75 GPA (cumulative or last 45+ graded credits). Transcripts will be reviewed for purposed of GPA calculation. Unofficial copies should be included in your application.
- Basic Test Scores requirement (WEST-B, SAT or ACT); applicants may not be admitted without meeting this requirement.
- English composition course (ENG 101) with a minimum grade of B-. Exams that meet this requirement:
- AP English Literature or Language, min. score of 4
- IB English, min. score of 4
Recommended Program Prerequisites:
Completing the program pre-requisites listed below before applying will expedite your time to program completion:
- EXCE 101
- Minimum grade of C
- This is an ACGM GUR
- MATH 111 or 112 (111 is preferred)
- Minimum grade of C, OR ALEKS Math Placement Assessment
- MATH 111 - ALEKS score min. 30
- MATH 112 - ALEKS score min. 45
- Minimum grade of C, OR ALEKS Math Placement Assessment
- SCED 201 and all other Science GURs. **Not required for SPED+ Content Endorsement program
- Minimum grade of C
- WWU students must request an override code for SCED 201 from Lori Torres
- Community College Equivalents: Everett CC - NAT S 107; Skagit CC - PHYS 111; Whatcom CC - PHYSC 104; Lower Columbia CC - PHSC 109

Special Education Early Childhood and Early Childhood Education
Notes:
- If you are not a WWU student, you must apply to WWU. This is a separate application.
- The Early Childhood Special Education program only admits for fall quarter.
- All other programs admit quarterly (Fall, Winter, and Spring).
- If the application due date falls on a date WWU is closed, applications will be due the following business day.

Application Review and Decisions
- All applicants who meet the minimum requirements and submit a completed application will have their application reviewed by the Special Education faculty.
- Applications are evaluated to determine the most qualified applicants.
- The application process takes approximately 4 weeks. Students will be notified by email of admissions decision.
