Scholarships Open to ANY Woodring Program

  • The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support for students who are, or will be, serving their second year as a lead mentor for the Compass 2 Campus program. 
  • Preference is to be made to applicants who demonstrate financial need - statement of financial need required
  • Preference is given to those who show exceptional leadership in, and contribution to the Compass 2 Campus program.
  • The primary purpose of this scholarship is to attract and retain students with superior promise in the Woodring College of Education.  
  • Post-Bac and graduate students are eligible
  • For students in Woodring College of Education who aspire to or have demonstrated service and leadership that supports high-risk children or youth. 
  • The scholarship may be renewed through the completion of the program. 
  • Awards are made to Woodring College students with financial need. No other criteria. 
  • Please provide a brief statement of financial need with your application.
  • Amount: $2000
  • This scholarship supports students in the Woodring College of Education. 
  • When possible, preference will be made to applicants who demonstrate financial need. 
  • Please include a short statement of financial need.
  • Available to any student enrolled in a Woodring College of Education program at the time of the award. 
  • Post-Bac and graduate students are eligible. 
  • No other criteria.
  • Amount: two awards of $1000
  • Open to anyone enrolled in a Woodring program who demonstrates community-based leadership skills.
  • Recipients are recognized for excellence in academic performance and demonstrated initiative and contributions in the area of community or public service at the local, state, national, or international level. 
  • Required 500-word essay describing contributions and future goals in the area of community or public service and recommendations: submit one from a university representative and one from a community representative.
  • Post-Bac and graduate students are eligible.
