Scholarships for Elementary Education Students

  • Must be enrolled in preparatory studies for elementary-level education
  • Must demonstrate high academic achievement; and financial need.
  • May be renewable for up to two additional years for full-time students, or until a degree is granted, whichever comes first. 
  • Please submit a statement of financial need.

The purpose of this award is to provide support to students of Woodring College of Education. 

  • Preference is given to seniors (or fifth year seniors) in elementary education, who are deserving students of average ability. 
  • Open to any student enrolled in the Elementary Education program (not endorsement). 
  • Post-bac and graduate students are eligible.
  • Applicants must be students admitted to the elementary education program (special education dual endorsements DO NOT qualify). 
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need and high academic achievement.
  • Preference is given to (but not limited to) applicants who are high school graduates of Grays Harbor, Clallam, Jefferson, Pacific or Mason counties. Please fill in county on application.
  • Post-Bac students are eligible.
  • Applicants must be undergraduate students with academic standing as a junior or senior or enrolled full-time in a post-baccalaureate program at the time of the award.
  • Applicants must be in the top third of their class, majoring in elementary education. 
  • Financial need is required (please submit a statement of financial need).
  • Post-Bac students are eligible.
  • Special education dual endorsement students are NOT eligible.
  • Applicants must be admitted to or enrolled in the Elementary Education program at Woodring College of Education. 
  • Post-bac and graduate students are eligible.
  • Applicants must be undergraduate students with academic standing as a junior or senior for the academic year of the award.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in the elementary education program.  
  • They must be a transfer student with an Associate of Arts degree and a minimum 3.5 GPA.
  • Post-Bac and students enrolled in the Special Education dual endorsement program are not eligible.
  • Applicants must be junior or senior students enrolled in Woodring's Elementary Education program.
  • Special consideration will be given to individuals with a learning disability and an interest in working with students with a learning disability. Please reference this in your essay.
  • Recipients who do not meet this criteria must have maintained a 3.0 GPA. 
  • Post-Bac students are NOT eligible. 
  • Amount: One award of $1500
  • Applicants must be enrolled in their full-time internship quarter in the Bellingham Elementary Education program at the time of the award
  • Must have financial need (please submit a statement of financial need)
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership qualities.
  • Post-Bac students are eligible.  Special Education dual endorsement students are NOT eligible.
  • Amount: $1500
  • Awarded for term of full-time student teaching only.
  • Applicants must be in good standing in an elementary program on campus (not open to students in other sites) and preparing to teach in a regular elementary classroom setting.
  • Applicants must be working their way through college and demonstrate financial need (please submit a statement of financial need).
  • Post-Bac students are eligible.
  • Special Education dual endorsement students are NOT eligible.
  • Open to any student enrolled in a Woodring College Elementary Education program. 
  • Post-Bac students are eligible. 
  • Special Education dual-endorsement students are NOT eligible. 
  • Students in Everett and Bremerton Woodring Teacher Education Outreach programs are eligible.

Special Education dual endorsement students are NOT eligible for Elementary Education scholarships.  You must be enrolled in an Elementary Education program.
