Scholarships for Graduate Students

• Amount: Two awards of $1000
• Applicant must be a graduate student in Woodring College of Education or admitted to a graduate student program.
• The student must demonstrate financial need and be accomplished in academic studies.
• Preference will be given to students who are intending to reside and work in the state of Washington for a period of two years following graduation.
• Please include a statement of financial need and intent to meet the criteria.

• Applicants must be admitted to the Adult & Higher Education (AHE) master's program with an emphasis in teaching at the Community College level prior to receiving the award.
• Recipients will be selected based on need and outstanding academic promise as a community college faculty member.
• Please provide a statement of financial need. 

• Applicants must be admitted to a Woodring College of Education graduate program.
• Preference is given to applicants pursuing a degree in Educational Administration.

• Applicants must be admitted to the Graduate School, have a minimum of 1 quarter completed and be enrolled as either part or full-time.
• Applicants must also demonstrate outstanding academic achievement as evidenced by undergraduate GPA from junior and senior years, as determined by the Scholarship Selection Committee on a year to year basis.
• Through the additional essay, applicants must also demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of the broader set of social, cultural, and ethical concerns that frame our understanding of educational issues.

• Preference for this award shall be candidates returning to school in pursuit of changing careers, and who are graduate students, with first choice being given to candidates in teacher education programs.
• The Fund may be used to pay any costs related to educational expenses, including, but not limited to, tuition, books, materials/supplies, etc.

• Recipients shall be enrolled as graduate students, with at least 12 credits in the Adult and Higher Education Program of Woodring College of Education.
• Recipients must show outstanding achievement as evidenced by excellence in academic activities, contributions to the seminar process, and dedication to student growth and development. 
• Recipients must exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of creative humanistic endeavors while concurrently striving to discover and expand new knowledge and methods for effective interpersonal and group interaction.

• Award: Full cost of tuition
• Recipients must be admitted to the Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling program prior to receiving the award.
• Upon graduation, the RSA Scholar is required to work for a state vocational rehabilitation agency, agency for the blind, tribal vocational rehabilitation program, or other related program.
• The payback requirement is two years of work for each year of financial assistance received.

• Amount: One award of $1500
• Recipient preference will be made to applicants who are single, working parents
• Must be enrolled in the Adult & Higher Education program at WWU. 

• The McCallum Graduate Fellowship is designated to support graduate student professional development by providing funds for travel to conferences, workshops, or other training events.
• Funds are available to support registration fees, travel costs, lodging and meals (within state and/or federal per diem allocations) for a total request not to exceed $1000.
• The McCallum Graduate Fellowship is open and awarded quarterly to Graduate students seeking conference and travel funding when presenting. See the WCE McCallum Graduate Fellowship Request form for deadlines and to submit a proposal.
