Human Services Major Admission Dates

 

Fall Quarter Program Admission Applications

  • The Fall priority due date is March 1 for Human Services applications. Applications will continue to be accepted after the priority deadline while space is still available. 

Application Instructions:

  • To apply to Bellingham Human Services, please complete and submit the Bellingham Human Services application,  If you are not a current WWU student, apply to the university simultaneously by submitting the WWU Application.  
     
  • To apply to Distance Learning Human Services (online classes), complete the Human Services application embedded in the online WWU application (look for Location Programs). Contact the program office (see below) to find out if space is still available.

Winter Quarter Applications (Bellingham only)

Spring and Summer Quarters

  • There is no program admission for new students in spring or summer quarters. If you are a current WWU student interested in taking a Bellingham Human Services class as a non-major, please contact us for possible openings: HS.Bellingham@wwu.edu

Returning Human Services students may be accepted any quarter. Please contact Human Services staff at the location you would like to attend before applying.

Incomplete applications are not considered!

  • Please follow all instructions thoroughly.
  • Attach all necessary documents and college transcripts.
  • You cannot edit or retrieve your application once you have submitted it!

Application Steps by Student Type

Current WWU Students

  1. Submit a Human Services Program Application.
  2. After acceptance into the program, review prohibited convictions and complete a background check.

Returning (to WWU) Students

  1. Apply to Western Washington University 
    (Attach a personal statement explaining the reasons for leaving and returning to Western as well as an academic plan of study which outlines the courses to be taken).
  2. After acceptance into the program, review prohibited convictions and complete a background check.

Transfer Students (with a DTA from an accredited community college)

  1. Apply to the WWU campus you wish to attend: Bellingham or Distance.
  2. Bellingham program applicants must also submit the Bellingham Human Services Application.
  3. After acceptance into the program, review prohibited convictions and complete a background check.
