Grade Level and Location Requests
When you apply to student teach, you will indicate your preferred grade ranges. We will do our best to place you according to your preferences, however these choices are not guaranteed.
The Elementary Education program has developed partnerships with local school districts and places applicants exclusively in the Whatcom and Skagit regions. Interns participate in a cohort model at specific schools selected by the Elementary program and in collaboration with our partner districts. Cohorts meet regularly at school sites to engage in Professional Development and share internship experiences. This model does not support placing students in schools outside of the cohort, therefore the ELED program does not accommodate Out of Area Requests. Please consider the location of your placement before you apply for your internship.
Fall: North of Bellingham
Winter: Bellingham
Spring: Skagit Valley
