Two SMATE Professors Receive Funding to Explore the Salish Sea Curriculum from the National Science Foundation
Dr. Debi Hanuscin (ECEM) and Dr. Josie Melton (SMATE) applied for and received a $1.7 million dollar grant from the National Science Foundation. The 3-year project is entitled “CREST: Culturally Responsive Elementary Science Teaching” and aims to advance equitable science education in the elementary years.

Black Lives Matter at Schools Educational Resource Fair at Happy Valley Elementary School
All current and future educators are invited to an educational resource fair sponsored by Happy Valley PTA, WWU and Whatcom CARE for the Black Lives Matter at School Week of action. It will be located at Happy Valley Elementary Library, February 8th 1-3pm. Parking is free. Resources available to support students and educators in building Black Lives Matter at school curriculum into education plans.
This event is free, but advance registration is highly recommended.

This award is given to Nurse Practitioners in every state for those who show the highest excellence for increasing patient access and providing quality care.
The American Association of Nurse Practitioners is the largest professional membership organization for nurse practitioners of all specialties.
