To provide support for students in Woodring College of Education who will be applying to or are enrolled in a teacher preparation program.  Preference made to applicants who demonstrate, in descending order of priority: a graduate of either the Marysville School District or Rainier Beach High School; Financial need.  If no students apply who meet the criteria above, it may be awarded to a student who is a graduate of the Seattle School District and if none apply, it may be awarded to a deserving student studying to become a high school English or Social Studies teacher.

To provide support for sophomore or junior students of color who will be joining Woodring College of Education in a "promise" agreement to maintain eligibility and enroll in one of Woodring's teacher education programs as soon as they have fulfilled the requirements for admission.  This scholarship is eligible for renewal.
