Preference for this award shall be candidates returning to school in pursuit of changing careers, and who are graduate students, with first choice being given to candidates in teacher education programs. The Fund may be used to pay any costs related to educational expenses, including, but not limited to, tuition, books, materials/supplies, etc.

Ray Romine Memorial Scholarship

Recipients shall be enrolled as graduate students, with at least 12 credits in the Adult and Higher Education Program of Woodring College of Education. Recipients must show outstanding achievement as evidenced by excellence in academic activities, contributions to the seminar process, and dedication to student growth and development.  Recipients must exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of creative humanistic endeavors while concurrently striving to discover and expand new knowledge and methods for effective interpersonal and group interaction.

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support for students who are, or will be, serving their second year as a lead mentor for the Compass 2 Campus program.  Preference is to be made to applicants who demonstrate financial need (please submit a short statement of financial need) and exceptional leadership in, and contribution to the Compass 2 Campus program.
