Amount: one award of $1000

Applicants must be pursuing a career in teaching. Preference will be given to graduates of a North Kitsap High School who are enrolled in WWU's program located in Bremerton. If there are no students meeting this criteria, the scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in the Woodring College of Education program located in Bremerton, who has demonstrated financial need and academic success. (Please submit a statement of financial need). Post-Bac students are eligible.

Marilyn F. Nold Memorial Housing Scholarship *

This off-campus housing scholarship honors the memory of educator Marilyn F. Nold. The selected recipient will receive three quarters of rent free housing in a one bedroom unit in the New England Apartments (2516-2536 Douglas Ave.) beginning in September of the upcoming academic year. The scholarship is generously offered in cooperation with Madrona Bay Real Estate Investments.  Recipients must sign and comply with a private lease agreement.

Mary Ann Smith Memorial Endowment Scholarship

Amount: Full tuition and fees for ECE internship quarter (amount varies)

Awarded annually to students accepted for internship placement in early childhood education (K-3). Recipients must be seeking an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. Financial need is required (please submit a statement of financial need).

Max & Priscilla Higbee Memorial Special Education Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled in the exceptional children undergraduate or graduate program (preference will be given to graduate students). Financial need is considered (please submit a statement of financial need). No minimum GPA requirement. Post-Bac students are ineligible.

Netteke Scott Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be junior or senior students enrolled in Woodring's Elementary Education program. Special consideration will be given to individuals with a learning disability and an interest in working with students with a learning disability. Please reference this in your essay. Recipients who do not meet this criteria must have maintained a 3.0 GPA.  Post-Bac students are NOT eligible. 

Preuss-Wasisco Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be admitted to a teacher certification program with at least 70 credits of college course work completed. Applicants must also have a minimum cumulative 3.3 GPA and demonstrate financial need (please submit a statement of financial need). Post-Bac students are eligible.

Rob Brand Elementary Education Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled in their full-time internship quarter in the Bellingham Elementary Education program at the time of the award, have financial need (please submit a statement of financial need) and be able to demonstrate leadership qualities. Post-Bac students are eligible.  Special Education dual endorsement students are NOT eligible.

Robert J. Copland Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be at least a junior in a teacher preparation program the academic year of the award. Applicants must also be a graduate of any Bellingham high school and have a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average. Post-Bac students are ineligible.
